Yakima has determined that the PowderHound Roof-Mounted, Locking Ski and Snowboard Carrier is a fit for your 2016 BMW 3 Series 4 Door with Factory Roof Rack. This carrier uses the mounts you referenced # Y8860040, and will fit on your factory crossbars.
These mounts will fit on factory crossbars that measure no more than 3-7/8 inches wide by 1-1/4 inch tall. As long as your BMW crossbars are smaller than 3-7/8 inches x 1-1/4 inch, the # Y8860040 mounting hardware will work well for you.
