Trailer Wiring Options for a 2013 Toyota Highlander Without Under Dash Converter
Question:
I bought a trailer hitch with the oem trailer harness but it did not come with the converter. Can I use an aftermarket converter or do I have to buy a complete kit from toyota. Thanks.

Sounds like you bough a trailer wiring harness like part # 56042 which is designed for the versions of the 2013 Toyota Highlander that have the converter under the dash.
The only option we can help you with is to go with a harness that includes the converter like part # C56217. Otherwise you can try to get the converter from Toyota so you can use what you currently have.
