Why are Some Trailer Hitches Rated for Weight Distribution and Others Are Not
Question:
Hi, I understand the purpose of the weight distribution system, but I dont understand the difference between a hitch receiver that can handle it and the other one that cant. Both looks the same and may carry the same load, but one specifically says Not rated for use with weight-distribution systems and an other one says Maximum GTW when used with weight distribution: 5,000 lbs.

Weight distribution systems are quite helpful for towing but not every hitch can be used with them. The issue is that the spring bar tension that the system puts on the vehicle and hitch can be too much and could potentially damage either.
It's not that the vehicle itself wouldn't benefit from a WD system it's that the torque the system puts on the attachment points for the hitch and/or vehicle just would be too much.
The Hidden Hitch part # 87626 that you referenced is rated for WD and has a max tongue weight of 525 lbs when used with one. A WD like the part # RP66540 would work great with this hitch as it has a 200-600 lb tongue weight range.
For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
