To determine the amount of drop in a ball mount you will need to tow the trailer level with your 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited there are 2 measurements needed. First, make sure the Jeep and the trailer are parked on level ground and not coupled up to each other.
Next, measure from the ground to the top of the hitch receiver opening on the Jeep.
Then, using the trailer jack, make the trailer level and measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler.
The difference between the 2 measurements is the amount of drop you would need. If the trailer was taller, the difference would be the amount of rise needed. I have included a link to a help article that will also help.
Another option is to use an adjustable ball mount such as # C45900. This is a great option if you tow more than one type of trailer or plan on towing a different trailer in the future. Always be sure to consult the vehicle owner's manual for towing information and weight capacities before towing any trailer.
