Compatibility of Swagman XCS Bike Rack with Hitch Extender

I talked with someone before but lost the information. Can this be used with a 2inch hitch extension rather than a ball mount extension?

The Swagman Traveler XCS Platform-Style 2 Bike Towing Rack # S64664 is intended for use on the shank of a 2-inch ball mount. It is not recommended for use on a hitch extension like # C45791. The reason is that any type of hitch extender will have the unavoidable side-effect of reducing your hitch's capacity by 50-percent. This loss of capacity results from the change in geometry caused by the extender.

If you need to tow and use a hitch-mount rack at the same time you can use the Curt # D210 Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2-Inch Receiver for Bike Racks. This does NOT reduce your hitch capacity. This part offers a 7500-lb gross trailer weight rating and a tongue weight capacity of 750-lbs. Please refer to the linked photo for key dimensions.

If you'll use the D210 in the hitch on a motor home, be sure to use an RV-rated bike rack. A link to all is included.
