Recommended Trailer Hitch Fit for 2015 BMW 328d Sports Wagon
Question:
I have seen conflicting answers to whether or not you can put a trailer hitch on a BMW 328d wagon. Which is the correct answer ? I am considering a 2015 328d this would be for bikes only, not towing.

We do offer confirmed hitch fits for the 2015 BMW 328d Sports Wagon. Curt 1-1/4-inch Class I hitch # C11367 fits the 2015 328d sedan and also the 328d xDrive Sports Wagon versions if they have a single muffler. The hitch installs without drilling and includes the required hardware. The only special tool needed is a torque wrench like # ALL944001. Written instructions, a helpful article and a video are all linked for you.
This hitch has the capability to carry up to 2 bikes on a compatible Class I hitch-mount bike rack. I have linked our main page for all such bike racks. You'll want a rack that offers at least 4-inches of clearance from the hitch pin hole to avoid the rack contacting the bumper cover.
If you prefer a platform style rack I suggest the Thule Doubletrack Pro XT # TH92BJ. This carrier includes locks for the rack itself and for your two loaded bikes. This works with tires up to 5-inches wide and bike wheelbases up to 50-inches. It should easily clear your bumper even when folded up.
The linked articles will help you consider the best Class I rack option for your bikes.
