I called my contact at Edge about the Edge EZ Module for your 2002 Ram 3500. They told me there is no setting that would produce more smoke as you said you are looking for.
They did tell me you should feel a power difference between the three settings. They said if you can find a place to safely test the system, you should see a power difference when going from the setting 1 to setting 2 or 3. They said for you to have no smoke is many times an indicator that the engine is running more efficiently.
