Replacement 2 Inch Hitch Ball Recommendation
Question:
I tow a small utility trailer every day and hook up and unhook every day. The 2 inch ball that I have has gotten very rusty and the chrome is all damaged. I was looking to replace it, but dont know which one to pick that can handle the daily use and not rust. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Good news! I was able to identify the chrome ball that you had purchased and have found a great replacement for you.
The chrome ball # 63845 you currently have has a shank that measures 1 inch in diameter, a shank length of 2-1/8 inches, and a capacity of 7,500lbs.
I recommend the stainless steel Brophy Hitch Ball # SC23-C to replace your chrome plated ball. This ball also has a 1 inch shank diameter, 2-1/8 inches long shank and a capacity of 7,500lbs., so they will swap out just great. The stainless steel design not only provides superior strength but it will resist rust and corrosion.
You may also want add a ball cover to protect your ball from the elements when not in use. # FA82-00-3220 from Fastway has a tether so that it can be mounted to your ball at all times.
