2013 Ford Escape Brake Controller Recommendation

Question:

I recently bought a trailer hitch and the wiring harness from you guys and now I need to purchase a brake assist controller. I already have the 4 pinn connector on the rear of the car. My pop up camper is a 7 way pinn tags has electric brakes. I need the break controller an the wiring harness fro the car to the trailer. Do I need extra harness for this?

Since you already have trailer wiring installed from there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well on a similar Escape as yours.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.

With these two parts you would have everything you would need to control the brakes of your camper.
