Break Controller Installation on a 2014 Volkswagen Touareg
Question:
I just got a 2014 VW Touareg Lux with a tow package - I had previously bought the prodigy p2 from you for my 2012 honda ridgeline - we had it removed from the ridgeline - and want to have it re-installed in the touareg - is there anything special the installer will need to know @ installing the prodigy p2 and is this the appropriate brake controller - will be towing a 2 horse trailer... I had heard that the electrical on the vws can be tricky...

There are some steps to installing a brake controller on a 2014 Touareg that are different than a typical brake controller installation.
Some of the needed parts will have to be purchased from your Volkswagen dealer. You may also need a 12V normally open relay.
I have attached a help article on installing a brake controller on 2005-Current Tourage for you.
If you need a replacement pigtail wiring harness for your Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885, you can use the Tekonsha # 7894.
