Recommended Wiring Pigtail For 2009 Nissan Titan To Replace Wiring Chewed By Dogs

Question:

I have a 2009 Nissan Titan SE 4X4 crew cab with the big tow package and it has the factory installed 7 pole trailer light connector right beside the factory receiver hitch. Unfortunately this year after I shot a deer and hauled it in my bed of my truck and the blood ran down the back my dogs chewed up the trailer light connection and ripped the wires out of the back of the plug that is in the wiring harness for the trailer light outlet to plug into. The wires are damaged 8-10 inches up going back up to driver frame rail. They yhen go into a harness with some others. I would like to know part#S for a 7 pole with the connection like I had with 24inch or so of wiring harness at least so I can get it fixed. I hate that I have to now splice the wiring and have lost the sealed wiring up to the harness. I like the ones you offer with the 7 pole and 4 pole both on the same receptacle and if you have one of those I would like that part # too please. I have searched the Hopkins site and some others and keep getting referred to the one that just plugs in to the plug that mine is damaged up stream of. In my searching I had found the #40975 and liked the outlet design. Is that a good option? I think it was a splice type wiring connection.is there any more connections in my harness up stream of where my wire is bad? I an not far up stream before it heads to the front of the vehicle? Any help and advice you can offer there would be appreciated greatly! As if its any way possible I would really like to restore it back to a original condition. Thanks so much

Sounds like the dogs were hungry. If the 7-way connector on the back of your Titan is not damaged I have just what you are looking for.

I recommend the Pigtail Wiring Harness, part # PK11998. This will plug into the back of your 7-way connector and it has 4-ft of wiring you can trace back on your vehicle to the place where the damage is. Then just cut the damaged wire and splice in the new pigtail harness. You will want to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 and check each of the wires for function before attaching them. The wiring butt connectors are included with the PK11998.

Here is the Wiring configuration for the PK11998:
Red - Left Turn and Stop - 14 gauge
White - Ground - 10 gauge
Blue - Electric Brakes - 12 gauge
Green - Right Turn and Stop - 14 gauge
Black - Battery - 12 gauge
Brown - Running Lamps - 14 gauge
Yellow - Backup Lamps - 14 gauge

If you need to replace the 7-way connector, you can use the Hopkins Factory Style Connector, part # N40975.
