Determining Correct Ignition Wire for Installing Superwinch on 2008 Suzuki 450 King Quad

To activate a powered winch like the Superwinch LT3000ATV Winch # SW1130220 you can use any wire that carries power ONLY when the ignition is on. We do not have a photo or wiring diagram for your ATV but you can use a tester like # PTW2993 to find a wire that carries the power signal you need to activate the winch motor. If you find multiple wires that carry the 12V signal when the key is on, use the larger of the two to power the winch.

I noted that there was a recall by Suzuki on the ignition switches on at least one model year King Quad. I found information on a recall for the 2007 model year. Because of this a local Suzuki dealership may be a good place to get info on the ignition wiring since they will likely be familiar with it from replacing lots of switches.
