Replacement 2,200 lb Trailer Leaf Spring that is 25-1/4 inches Long  

Question:

I am trying to replace the stock leaf springs on our fifth wheel. On a recent trip something happened to at least one spring, causing the wheel to bottom out in the wheel well. I contacted the manufacturer, who sent me to the frame manufacturer, Dexter. Dexter sent me the specifications for the springs, but the specifications indicate that the springs are 26inch , and rated at 2200 lbs, but I took one off and measured to the center of each eye and I came up with 25 1/4. The axles are 4400 lbs each. I would like to increase the spring capacity a little by going up to around 2500 lb springs. What spring would you suggest?

25-1/4 inch leaf springs are a very common length. For a leaf spring that is rated for a 2,500 lb axle that is 25-1/4 inches long you would want the part # e66SR.

If instead you meant 2,200 lbs per spring you would want the # e44SR instead.
