Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2011 Honda Pilot
Question:
I have a 2011 honda pilot but only have the universal 3 wire install kit, is it fairly easy to access where i need to tap into the wiring and where should I start?

The use of a universal trailer wiring harness is not recommended on the 2011 Honda Pilot in part because it is already set up for a plug and play type of wiring harness such as # 118491.
Otherwise you will have to gain access to the wiring leading to the tail lights and splice into them. This will likely require removal of some trim panels in the cargo area of the Pilot. Once you have access to the wiring I recommend using a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to test the wires to determine the functions.
