Is Connecting 12-Volt Accessory Power Circuit on 7-Way Trailer Connector Necessary

Do you need to hook up the black wire to make the 7 blade plug work?

The purpose of the black wire is to provide 12-volt power for any accessories on your trailer. It is not necessary to power up this circuit if you do not need it, but our installers typically do complete the circuit. Some time in the future, you may be towing a trailer that needs the power feed.
If you do decide to connect that circuit, you would run a length of 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 from the trailer connector to the positive battery terminal using a 40 amp inline circuit breaker part # 9510.
