Rear Helper Springs for a 2014 Lexus GX 460
Question:
2014 Lexus G460 My vehicle has 6500 towing capacity. What does the 6000 pound capacity refer to under the description specs of this product? Thanks for helping clarify.

The 6,000 pound capacity of the Timbren springs # TTORSEQ is the capacity of the system or, in other words, the amount of weight pushing straight down on them that they can handle. So if you put 2,000 pounds of stuff over the rear axle of your 2014 Lexus GX 460 the springs would still have capacity to spare. Of course you wouldn't put that much weight in the vehicle but that is just an extreme example.
If you towed a trailer that weighed 6,500 pounds the tongue weight would be in the neighborhood of 650 pounds to 975 pounds. It is this tongue weight that would be applied to the rear axle, not the gross trailer weight. The system bolts on and does not require drilling.
