Does The Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Fit A 2004 Volvo XC90 With Spare Tire Underneath
Question:
Code: 13559 I saw the video for installation on this hitch in the Volvo however, I am concerned with one aspect of installing this hitch on my volvo - the spare tire is underneath the vehicle and it looks to be in the space of the hitch? Can you address this issue?

The Curt Trailer Hitch, # 13559, on the 2004 Volvo XC90 will not interfere with the spare tire. The spare tire is removed before the hitch is installed to allow easier access to the mounting locations on the vehicles frame. After the hitch is installed then the spare tire can be put back in place.
The installation video of the hitch on the 2010 Volvo XC90 did not show them removing the spare tire or reinstalling it after installation.
There is a tie down bracket underneath the vehicle on the passengers side that does have to be removed permanently when installing the hitch. Also, on the Curt hitch it does require minor trimming of the bumper fascia.
I am sending a link to the installation instructions for the Curt Hitch, # 13559. It describes in detail what needs to be done when installing the hitch.
If you will be towing, you will need the Curt Ball Mount, # C45010, and the Pin and Clip, # PC3. You will also need a hitch ball. Depending on the coupler size on the trailer you will be towing you will need either a Tow Ready 1-7/8 inch Hitch Ball, # 19260, or a Tow Ready 2 inch Hitch Ball, # 19247.
The wiring harness needed is the Tow Ready Wiring Harness, # 119190KIT.
I am also sending a link to the Hidden Hitch instructions and a video link of the wiring harness being installed on same vehicle.
