It is very helpful that you noted the 3inch on center between the mounting holes. Could you also suggest a screw type, size and length as well as a pilot drill bit size? These would be really helpful in the specifications part of web page.

The type and length of mounting screw to use to install the Optronics Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light # MC32AB will depend largely on the nature of the mounting surface. If there is wood behind the trailer's outer skin at the mounting point then use wood screws long enough to securely grab that material. If the underlying material is metal then use sheet metal screws. If you are using existing holes in the trailer then that may determine the size of fastener you need to use.

The two mounting holes in this light are indeed spaced at 3-inches apart center-to-center as you noted. I went to our warehouse and pulled a sample so that I could give you the actual hole diameter to help you choose the right diameter hardware. The two holes in the light base are 1/4-inches (6.6mm) in diameter. You can choose your preferred hardware and drill bit sizes accordingly. A 3/16-inch diameter screw and a 5/32-inch drill bit should be good.
