Troubleshooting Removing an Old Lock From Toolbox Latch

I am trying to remove my lock. Please help me to remove the old lock!

Usually, if the lock is going to be able to be replaced it will have a thin nut on the back of the cylinder on the interior of the toolbox that can be loosened and removed. I've included an image to show you what I'm talking about.

If you happen to have a latch that doesn't have a removable cylinder we offer the BOLT Latch Retro Fit Kit replacement # BL7022698. This retrofit latch kit for your toolbox has a lock that codes to your vehicle's ignition key. Corrosion-resistant lock is made of automotive-grade materials and is nearly impossible to pick or bump.

If you cannot remove the nut from the lock core you can attempt to drill it out but this may result in damaging the surrounding lock core housing or take it to a local lock smith.
