Does Install of Hitch on a 2015 Audi Q7 Require Rear Fascia Trimming

Question:

I have a 2015 Audi Q7 and want to add an after-market Curt receiver. Whats not clear to me is what to do with the removable fascia panel that covers where it will stick out. Do I have to leave it off? Can it be cut to fit around the receiver? If so, what tool do I use, and is there a template or instruction guide for how to do this? Any help is much appreciated.

The rear fascia of your 2015 Audi Q7 will need to be trimmed so that it can be reinstalled after the install of the Curt Hitch part # 13220.

There are many possible ways of making the cuts in the plastic appearance panel, including tin snips, a utility knife with a fresh blade or a Dremel tool. Your best bet would be to use whichever tool you feel most comfortable with. The cuts you make in the panel are meant to allow the hitch to pass through it.

I don't have a template for you to use, but I attached a picture a customer sent us that shows how they trimmed it.
