Can Scissor Jacks be Bolted or Welded On and Do They have to Face a Certain Way

Question:

I bought the scissor jacks for my 2015 Sprinter Reyo and want to know if the recommended install is weld or bolt with clamp. Is the orientation critical? In line with the frame or perpendicular to the frame? Any info or reference would be helpful. Thanks.

Scissor jacks such as # JSC-24-IND used for stabilization of a trailer/RV can be welded or bolted on. However, if you choose to weld them on using a professional welder is recommended. There is no specific way they have to be placed. I have seen them with the scissor arms perpendicular to the frame and parallel with the frame. It all depends on the area they are being mounted and the available space. You will want as much contact with the mounting flanges on the jacks as you can get.
