I spoke with my contact at Derale about the Stacked-Plate Transmission Cooler Kit, # D13402. He stated that the plates are hollow so essentially, each plate has 1 big hole. Inside each plate there are heat dissipating fins. There are also fins between each plate. Fluid flows into one side and down each internal fin and hollow plate in succession until pressure pushes the fluid across the cooler to the other side and out through the outlet tube. So it is essentially in, down, across, out.
The cooler measures 13 inches long, 2 inches wide, and 6-7/16 inches tall. The distance between the center of the inlet tube and the center of the outlet tube is 10 inches. The height of the stacked plate portion is 4-7/8 inches.
