The Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System # HM50002 can be made to work on just about any vehicle. If the car has a 7-way trailer socket with a round U.S. Car connector at the back (please see the linked photo) then it will install by simply plugging in between the connector and the trailer socket. The trailer socket then continues to function as it did, but it also then passes along the reverse light signal needed by the Smart Hitch. This reverse light signal powers the camera. The cable from the camera to the monitor will need to be run up into the passenger compartment.

It is also possible to hard-wire the system. Only to wires need to be connected. You'll disconnect the red and black wires where they join the white and purple wires. The red wire connects to the reverse light circuit and the black wire connects to the vehicle as ground.

You'll need a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test the wires at the taillights to find the wire that carries a signal ONLY when the car is in reverse gear. You'll need a competent helper to carefully shift the car into reverse while the brake pedal is pressed. This will allow you to test the wires to find the reverse light wire. I linked a video showing how to use the tester.
