Testing 7-Way Wires for Replacing with a 4-Way
Question:
I am hooking up a 4 way connector my 1997 dodge had a 7 way on it but was broke so I unscrewed all the wires an now I need now which ones to connect to my New 4 way the 7wire colors are green with red strip, black with orange strip, red with tanish looking strip, black, blue, purple with black strip, and brown with purple strip

What you are going to need to do is use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the functions of each of the wires that you removed from your 7-way like the video I attached shows so that you can determine which ones are the correct wires to use for the 4-way.
On the 4-way the white is ground, green is right turn/stop, yellow is left turn/stop, and brown is running lights.
In case you remember where each wire ran on the 7-way of the truck I attached a diagram that shows where all of the wires would have been ran.
