Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack for a 2014 Honda Civic Sedan
Question:
I read up on the Honda civic faqs on this, have some of my own. 1. Is a 1 1/4inch hitch going to have more wind movement on highway than a 2inch hitch with a tilt rack? 2. Recommendations for a single MTB double if cost isnt significant trailer tilt bicycle rack set up? Im not rich, but need something solid.

In terms of wind resistance and using a trailer hitch mounted bike carrier there isn't going to be any difference between the two. However since 1-1/4 inch trailer hitches are used on smaller vehicles, such as your 2014 Honda Civic Sedan, more wind tends to get to the bikes (mostly the wheels) because the smaller vehicles are not as wide or tall as vehicles that use a 2 inch trailer hitch.
But bike carriers and hitches are more than sturdy enough to handle wind resistance, even at fast highway speeds.
For a trailer hitch for your Civic sedan you can use # C11391. This is a Class I trailer hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver so you will need a bike carrier that is Class I compatible. The Swagman Trailhead # S63360 is a solid option and the carrier I recommend the most for Class I trailer hitches.
It can tilt and it comes with anti-sway cradles and a rise in the shank for additional ground clearance. I have linked a video review of this bike carrier for you.
