Brake Controller and Installation Recommendation for a 2006 Dodge Ram
Question:
Interested in the P3. However there are two shown, one with 7 way factory trailer connector and one without. I already have a connection for the trailer. Is product asking if I already have or if I need a new one?

Our fitguide is asking what style of trailer wiring connector you have at the rear of your 2006 Dodge Ram so that we can show you everything you would need to install the P3 brake controller part # 90195.
If you have a 7-way (you most likely do) that looks like part # 37185 you would only need the controller and the install harness part # 3020-P. I attached an install video that shows how this will be done.
If instead you have a 4-way connector you would need the part # ETBC7 instead of the # 3020-P. This will allow you to hardwire the brake controller into the vehicle and will convert the 4-way to a 7-way. I attached an install video and install instructions for this type of install as well.
