Solution for Roof Fairing on Vehicle w Rail Grab Roof Rack Where Theres Gap Between Roof/Fairing

Question:

I have an 07 Saturn vue. I just put on my Yakima rack once I got my brand new railgrabs to attach to the side rails. Only problem is that my wind fairing doesnt seem to fit correctly. Its about 2 inches above the roof and goes over the sides slightly. If I go over 40 mph it shakes and makes a whole lot of noise. Ive moved my railgrabs as close to the front as I can and it doesnt seem to make much difference. Im assuming Ill need a new wind fairing but Im lost with what to purchase or if theres another solution.

We had a similar issue here with an employee here and what he ended up doing was getting a second narrower fairing to attach to the lower section of the main fairing to bridge the gap between the fairing and the roof.

Since the Rhino Rack fairings are priced the best and have a shape that would work the best for what you are doing I would recommend you measure the distance between your side rails and then go with the one that would fit the best.

For a 38 inch long fairing you would want # RRRF1 for a 32 inch long fairing, # RRRF2, for 44 inch part # RRRF3, or 50 inch # RRRF4.

You could use plastic rivets to attach the two together or you could use nuts and bolts.

This also will give you additional real estate for additional fairing stickers as well!
