Replacement Trailer Connector for a 2012 Ford Super Duty
Question:
Is this a direct replacement to the factory plug on a 2012 super duty? It looks like it mounts exactly opposite to the factory plug. Thanks

The harness you see pictured in connector # HM40975-11998 plugs into the back of that connector so it would look like the opposite of what is on the back of the connector. If you do not need the wiring harness part then you would just use # HM40975.
If you do need the harness it will have to be wired into the trucks tow package wiring by function by testing the vehicle wiring using a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to determine the functions. The wire functions of the harness in # HM40975-11998 are as follows:
Red = Left turn and stop
White = Ground
Blue = Electric brakes
Green = Right turn and stop
Black = Battery
Brown = Running lights
Yellow = Reverse lights
