Recommended Weight Distribution System for 6000 Pound Trailer with 800 Pound Tongue Weight

Question:

Weight distribution and anti-sway hitch. How do I choose with so many choices in brands and technology. I will using my 2014 Chevy 1500 V8, 9700# tow capacity to tow a 6000# trailer with a 768# tongue weight. I used your or and still come up with 19 options. Is there one brand or technology that is perceived to be better than another with cost not being an object?

I recommend using the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution with Sway Control # RP66560. This system uses integrated friction pads made from a brake pad-type material to help prevent sway, and the trunnion bars help distribute the tongue weight of your trailer while providing better ground clearance than more traditional-style round bars. Additionally, this system includes the shank needed for the weight distribution system.

The brackets have a no-drill, clamp-on designed that can accommodate for frame-mounted items like gas tanks or generators. These brackets can fit up to a 6 inch trailer frame. Compared to other system that require holes to be drilled and the brackets bolted to the frame, the Reese Steadi-Flex system has almost minimal installation.

The Reese Steadi-Flex # RP66560 is designed for trailer with loaded and ready to tow tongue weights between 600 - 1,200 pounds and has a gross towing weight capacity of 12,000 pounds.

A hitch ball with a 1-1/4 inch diameter shank is required with this system. For a hitch ball with a 2 inch diameter ball you can use # A-90. For a hitch ball with a 2-5/16 inch diameter ball you can use # 19286.

The ease of installation and set-up paired with the quality of the Reese Steadi-Flex system make this system my personal favorite, as well as the favorite of many of my co-workers. I have attached a review video of # RP66155 for you.
