Recommendation for Helping Control Sway on a Enclosed Trailer
Question:
2011 jeep unlimited Mohave addition. Automatic. Factory installed hitch - I believe class three. Towing 6x10 US Cargo enclosed trailer from Pa to Tx. Trailer will not be loaded heavy, weight properly distributed, and tounge will be level. I am most concerned about strong cross winds and 18 wheelers passing. Will the reese friction sway bar control this type of conditions ? Also, the jeep is stock - no lift or over size tires.

The ProSeries friction sway bar # 83660 it will definitely help but won't eliminate it. This will be the most economical route, but if you wanted to ensure the enclosed trailer will be completely secure I recommend a full weight distribution system with integrated sway control.
We offer a variety of systems that use different types of sway control. I really like the Reese Stait-Line Series like # RP66086, because of its 200-600 lbs. tongue weight capacity and 10,000 lbs. gross towing weight. This system also includes the sway preventing dual-cam sway control. The great thing about this system is that it already comes with a shank. It is important to choose a system that falls within your loaded tongue weight for the best ride possible. I have linked our weight distribution systems for your convenience.
The final piece you will need to start towing your trailer with a weight distribution is a properly sized hitch ball, your coupler size will determine what ball you need but for this weight distribution the shank of the ball is required to have a diameter of 1-1/4 inches like the 2 inch ball # A-90 or the 2-5/16 inches ball # BWHB94050.
