Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2016 Volkswagen Beetle SEL Turbo Hardtop

Question:

Just purchased a 2016 Volkswagen Beetle SEL Turbo hardtop. Im admittedly confused could be my gray hair about the correct item. I will ONLY be caring bicycle rack no wiring harness will ever be installed. Question about which model and how low does it hang or is it snug. Sorry hard to tell from item picture. I added photo not knowing if I was describing model correctly. Thank You

For your 2016 Volkswagen Beetle hardtop, gas turbo model I recommend Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver #C11354. This is a Class I trailer hitch rated to carry 2 bikes maximum.

I included a diagram that shows the hitch's position once installed. It will be right below the rear fascia/bumper.

For a bike rack I recommend the Swagman Trailhead, # S63360. It is compatible with Class I hitches, holds 2 bikes, and the rise in the shank will provide better ground clearance. I have linked a video review of this bike rack for you.
