Brake Controller Does Not Power On After Installation on a 2002 GMC Sierra
Question:
I have a tekonsha voyager with the plug in harness. I plugged it into the box under the brake pedal. I removed the cross brace under the hood to open the power distribution box. Both red wire are already on the positive posts and the blue wire is plugged into another blue wire that runs through to loom to the 7 pole RV port on the back of the truck. On the back of the 7 pole RV plug, the blue wire isnt connected to anything. It just hangs behind the plug with a cap on it. There is one 30 amp fuse the bigger post toward the firewall and the other post doesnt have a fuse. I hooked up a voltage meter to each post and nothing. I cant get power to my controller. Any help would be appreciated.

It does sound like you have everything hooked up properly and all of the connections under the hood are there so the only other things I can think of are a blown fuse (the green one) or a break in the wiring from that positive post on the fuse box to the brake controller.
If the post does not have power as you have indicated then its connection to the battery must be broken. You can bypass it by connecting the power wire to the positive battery terminal via a 30 amp circuit breaker such as # PK54530.
The blue wire that is just hanging at the back will also need to be connected to the back of the 7-Way in the 7 o'clock position. This blue wire is the output to the trailer brakes from the brake controller.
