Does the Heat Shield of 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 Have To Remove to Install B and W Gooseneck Hitch

Question:

have a 2015 Chevy Silverado 3500 diesel. Is there an issue with installing this unit and the heat shield? It appears to go about halfway across the bed.

In step 2 of the instructions for the B and W Turnover Gooseneck Hitch part # BWGNRK1012 that you referenced you will end up removing the heat shield. Some of our customers have reported back saying that they did not have to remove it but others said they went ahead and removed it and left if off. The hitch will more or less act as a heat shield as well.

I attached a link to an install video for this hitch in a 2015 Chevy Silverado just like yours for you to check out as well.
