How to Remove Curt Q16 Head from Center Section
Question:
I just purchased a Curt Q16 5th wheel hitch. I pulled the large center pin to remove the head but cannot get the head to separate from the bottom frame. Am I missing something or is it just that tight? Thanks,

No need to worry, Typically it's harder to remove the head after use. I double checked the instructions that I've linked for your convenience, and they state it is only the lynch pin and large pivot pin that need to be removed to remove the head. They do recommend the head and legs be removed as one unit and say that if there is binding they recommend loosening the four 14mm leg mounting bolts to release them from the rails.

Hi there – looking at this answer - I have this hitch and I'm trying to either loosen or torque up those 14mm pilot bolts and I cant really figure out how to get a wrench in there - there's just not enough space...is there a trick I'm not aware of?
