Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2014 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible Using the Curt Hitch

Good morning. I am trying to outfit a 2014 VW Beetle convertible with a bike carrier and hitch. I have chosen C11354 Curt hitch, S63360 bike rack and 18050 support strap. Will this combo work good on my car and are there any additional items I should consider? Thank you for your time.

I have good news for you, this combo would be a great fit for your vehicle.
By using the Curt Hitch # C11354, which is a custom fit hitch for your 2014 VW Convertible Beetle, the bike rack # S63360 will fit and be well within your 1-1/4 inch x 1-1/4 inch receivers weight rating. I see that you are doing exactly what Curt recommends in the instructions by using the support strap # 18050 which is needed when carrying any accessory with their hitch.
A few items you may want to also consider purchasing with this rack would be a bike adapter bar like the Swagman # 64005, this will allow you to transport different framed bikes like women's or children's bikes often have.
If you are concerned with the safety of your bike I also recommend a cable lock # e98891 and a hitch lock. Swagman offers one that has the Anti-Rattle technology the pin they provide has # S64029. We also offer a combo of the two locks together # S64031
