Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2015 Mazda 3 Grand Touring
Question:
Hi experts, I recently acquired a 2015 Mazda 3 Grand Touring hatchback with the optional appearance package. Id like to be able to take my bike with me using the car, and not have to stuff it into the back of the hatch with the wheel off, like I have been doing. I usually take my bike with me three days a week. I also would like to be able to transport my wifes bike at the same time as my bike on occasion. Sooo, my needs besides fitting my car with the aforementioned appearance package are as follows: - carry two bikes - be easy to remove and store when not in use - be able to fold up/be unobtrusive when not in use - not require lifting the bikes a significant distance i.e. no roof racks - not have to remove the front wheel - would prefer not to have anything touching the paint on the car Would you recommend a hatch-mounted rack or a trailer hitch and rack? If trailer hitch and rack, hows the fit with the Mazda appearance package? Also, if it helps, the rear part of the appearance package is 10.75 inches off the ground. Thanks in advance.

Since you do not want anything touching the paint of your vehicle the best option is going to be a hitch mounted option.
The most popular bike rack we carry that has been confirmed to fit this vehicle is the Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack part # S64670. This rack has a ton of positive reviews from our customers who have tried it. Check out the review video I attached for more info. This rack can fold up for storage so that it will store easily as well.
For a trailer hitch the part # 24914 would be a great option that has been confirmed as a fit. Your vehicle being the Grand Touring model will not matter. The hitch will fit just fine.
