Trailer and Vehicle Lights Coming On and Staying On When Towing with a 2005 Nissan Armada
Question:
My trailer lights are coming on and staying on when towing but not applying the brakes. I have also disconnected the trailer from the truck and the truck brakes lights will stay on for . awhile then turn off. On one occasion I wiggled the wires on the controller and this fixed it for awhile. I have the Prodigy brake controller. Do I just need a new controller.

Expert Reply:
Considering that when you jiggled the wires it temporarily fixed the problem could mean that there is just a loose connection somewhere. It could be in the harness that connects the Prodigy to your 2005 Nissan Armada, or in the port it plugs into. You could try a new adapter wiring harness, # 3050-P, instead of a whole new brake controller.
