Question:
I have a 1997 dodge ram 1500 extended cab mine had a trailer brake controller but someone took it out by cutting the red wire but I dont see where the connecter is under the dash. Do you have any advice how do I come about putting another controller in?

If your 1997 Dodge Ram has a factory 7-way at the rear of it you would need an install connector like the part # 3020-P to install a Tekonsha brake controller like our best selling P2 part # 90885.
You will know if your 7-way is the factory 7-way by checking to see if the Chrysler logo is on the cover of the connector. I attached a picture that highlights what it will look like. I also attached an install video that shows how the # 3020-P is used to install a similar controller.
Under the dash there should be a blue connector right by a white junction box. That will be the connector to use for the brake controller install harness.
I also attached a help article that covers installing brake controllers in your generation of Dodge Ram truck.
