Does a 2013 Ram Truck Have to Go to the Dealer For Brake Controller Install
Question:
My truck has all the wire to install an electric trailer brake. I purphased the brake module and the harness. The dealership said i had to bring my truck out there so they could activate the computer. Is this true?

As long as your 2013 Ram doesn't have a factory brake controller installed in it you would not need to take it to a dealer to install a brake controller like the Tekonsha Voyager # 39510 with the correct install harness part # 3023-P.
We have heard of dealers saying that the truck needs to come in either way. But we have also heard back from customers who said that they installed their controller with the correct harness and everything worked fine without a trip to the dealer.
