Does T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118412 Require Direct Connection to battery on 2010 Toyota RAV4

Question:

since I only use the wiring infrequently why cant I just plug it in to the power port by the back hatch?

The wiring in the power port may not be rated for this type of application. The harness should not be used unless you attach the power wire to the battery via the in line fuse and fuse holder included with the kit. This will protect the sensitive wiring and electrical components in your RAV4.

Also, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118412, requires a direct connection to the battery on your 2010 Toyota RAV4 because should there be a failure or malfunction in the electrical system, the harness retains power since it is directly connected to the battery.
