Troubleshooting Pulsating Vehicle Brakes After P2 Brake Controller Install
Question:
Since Ive had the Prodigy P2 installed on my 2007 Chevy Avalanche Z71 2WD, I notice the brakes pulsate more during normal driving without the trailer. To confirm my observation, I unplugged the brake controller today and the pulsation is not as evident. This truck is a hard-wire application. Is this common to have increased pulsation in the abs brake system with the Prodigy P2?

You should not be able to feel any difference on your vehicle's braking when a brake controller is installed. This would indicate to me that there is a problem in the wiring of the brake controller. Most likely on the stoplight wire of the controller (red).
Since you said you hardwired the install I would first verify that you have the correct circuit for the red wire of the controller. It needs to be wired to a circuit that only sees voltage when the brakes are applied and none when released. It's hard to say what circuit you may have currently but it should not be doing what you described. If you used the wiring for a brake controller that your truck came with (under the dash) this should be a light blue wire.
Also check to make sure the output circuit of the brake controller (blue wire), isn't shorting out to any other circuits. This circuit will apply a very small amount of voltage intermittently to check for a trailer connection so the pulsation could be somehow associated with this.
