7-Way Recommendation to Replace 4-Way on 5 by 8 Trailer
Question:
I have a small 5x8 trailer that has a four pin adapter on the wiring harness. It needs to be replaced because it is old and worn out. Can I replace it with a seven pin harness so I dont have to use a 4 to 7 pin adapter? If so how is it wired in?

You could easily replace the worn out 4-way on your trailer with a new 7-way. For that you would want the part # H20043.
The white wire of this connector is for the ground circuit, the red wire would be for left turn/stop, the brown wire for right turn/stop, and the green wire is for the tail lights. The rest of the wires wouldn't be used. You will want to solder these connections or use butt connectors like part # DW05744-10.
