Transom Strap Recommendation for boat that weighs 2,410 lbs
Question:
I have and 18foot boat and trailer. The trailer weighs 3270lbs the boat weighs 2410 lbs with no fuel onboard. Boat is secured to trailer with winch and safety change. What do you recommend the strength of the bow strap and transom straps be. I am looking for straps with J-hooks on both ends since my trailer is set up to accept that style.

Helpful Expert Reply:
Transom straps are not designed to bear the entire weight of your boat as they are designed to be used with a bow tie-down and a winch strap. So the part # IMF12811 that you referenced should work well for you as it has a 1,200 lb max capacity.
