How to Use an LED Hitch Cover on a Vehicle with Bulb Out Codes

Question:

Trying to get a lighted trailer cover to work without the tail light/brake sensor alert on dash screen? Been researching adapters. Would the code: part: 30717 work with the code: part: TR20141 to bypass the sensors and help the lighted led trailer cover work without disturbing any other electronics etc./flasher, tail light, and brake sensors, or invalidate our warranty if any electrical had an overload etc? 4 way to 7 way 30717 to 7 way back to 4 way TR20141? F.Y.I. Have communicated with Jameson C.

I see that you are trying to make an adapter so that you could use the # FHG72VR on your vehicle that throws bulb-out codes whenever you connect to LED trailer lights.

Instead of doing all of the converting with all of the adapters you referenced a cleaner install would be to install load resistors on each of the taillight circuits of the 4-way you have on your 2014 Ford Escape. These will simulate the load of an incandescent bulb which should prevent the light on your dash from appearing. You would want the part # DI34ZR. One for each circuit.

I attached a diagram that shows how these install.
