Replacement 12 Inch Camper Trailer Tires for 2,500 Pound StarCraft Pop-Up
Question:
I have a 2000-2500 pound Starcraft pop up camper. The current tires are 12 in. rated 1000 pound tires at 80 lbs. pressure. Shouldnt I have 1250+ rated tires? Do you sell those?

The trailer manufacturer is probably factoring out the trailer tongue weight which would be carried by the tow vehicle. However, if the trailer is towed high in the front then that would put more weight on the trailer tires and could lead to problems. Going with higher capacity tires is a good idea.
There are different 12 inch trailer tires sizes available. If you need 5.30-12 tires then you could use # AM10068 which is rated for 1,250 pounds at 105 psi.
If you need 145/12 tires then you can use # AM10140 rated for 1,520 pounds at 80 psi.
There isn't a high enough capacity tire in size 4.80-12.
Please note that going with higher capacity tires will not increase the capacity of the trailer. Trailer tires should always be inflated to the maximum psi indicated on the tire sidewall. This is because trailer tires are built with a thicker sidewall than passenger vehicle tires to handle more vertical load. If under inflated the thicker sidewall generates excessive heat and can lead to failure.
