I went in the warehouse and measured the U-bolt from Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty Crossbar Fit Kit , part # RUBK-MF.

The width from center to center of the U-bolt is 2-5/8 inches. The height of the U-bolt is 3-5/32 inches. The amount of thread on each bolt is 2-3/32 inches. The U-bolt diameter is 6 mm or 15/64 inch. I am including a picture of the U-bolt with the dimensions listed.
