Fifth Wheel Installation Rail/Bracket Kit Recommended for 2001 Chevy Silverado
Question:
I have a Husky 16k fifth wheel hitch, I am mounting in my 2001 chevy Silverado ex-cab 4x4 w/61/2 ft bed z71 pkg. I need to know what parts and kits I need to do this. Can you help?

Since your Husky fifth wheel is compatible with industry standard installation rails, you have lots of choices.
You can go with a very inexpensive universal install kit like the Reese # RP30035. Drilling into the truck frame would be required, which would lengthen the install time to an estimated 6 hours.
The custom kits don't require drilling into the truck frame which will speed up the process, but you will need to drill through the bed to join the bed rails to the frame brackets. The custom kits can get pricey, but Curt offers the # C16418-204 that's reasonably priced. Since the rails included with this kit are compatible with your Husky hitch, this is the kit I'd recommend. To install a 7-way connector in the truck bed, I'd recommend part # 41157. I've linked you to an install video for the wiring kit.
