Fit of Curt Class I Hitch # C11419 on 2016 Kia Soul EV

Question:

I have a new 2016 Kia Soul EV. Will this hitch fit it? Also does the 1 1/4 inch receiver opening go all the way through the entire hitch without any blockage. I want to be able to slide my Yakima HighLite bike rack all the way in so that it rests against the bumper. Thanks

The Curt Class I hitch you referenced, part # C11419 is indeed a fit for your 2016 Soul EV. The receiver tube is unobstructed all the way through, it does not have a stop punched or welded into it that would prevent a Class II rated accessory from being used, so it will be crucial that you are always aware of the tongue weight (downward force) that you'll be applying to the hitch. The Curt # C11419 has a 200 lb tongue weight capacity, which means that the weight of the rack plus the weight of the bikes carried on it CANNOT exceed 200 lbs.

The bike rack and hitch manufacturers agree that no more than two bikes should be carried on a bike rack that's being used in a Class I hitch. Adding a third bike would place too much load too far away from the receiver tube, which would apply additional leverage to the hitch, which the hitch wasn't designed to handle.

The hitch will offer enough clearance so that you can install your bike rack.
