Outside Diameter of the Curt Combo Bar # E-11

Question:

What is the outside diameter of the pipe? I am assuming 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 ??? I am planning on making my own hitch extender out of A36 2 1/2inch X 2 1/2inch solid stock that will slide into my 2 1/2inch X 2 1/2inch receiver but will need to reduce the other end to 2inch x 2. I can but the E-11 part to the 2 1/2inch solid stock and slide a 2 1/2inch inner diameter pipe over the two and weld then together. I need something stronger then the curt, Titan hitch extenders. I have around 1500lb tongue weight on a boat that weighs 10,000lbs.

The outer tubing of the Curt part # E-11 is 2-1/2 inches by 2-1/2 inches. This would fit well in a 2-1/2 inch hitch, but this is not the intention of this product so I can't really recommend you use it like that since it never has been tested. Especially considering the capacities you are looking for.
