Does the Reese Universal 5th Wheel Installation Kit Fit a 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 Long Bed Dually

Question:

Can I use the 30439 Reese Universal Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches No Base Rails - 10 Bolt. To move My 5th wheel hitch from my 1999 F250 crew cab short box to my 2015 Silverado 3500HD crew cab DRW Long box. Also what is the proper distance from box end to bed rail for the 2015 Chevrolet above.

The Reese universal 5th wheel installation kit, brackets and hardware only, # RP30439, does fit the 2015 Chevy Silverado 3500 long bed. But, if you have the longer Reese rails like the ones in kit # RP56001-53 (the rails are # RP30153) then you cannot reuse them with the universal brackets.

When installing the universal kit the distance from the rear edge of the bed forward to the back edge of the rear rail will be 29-3/4 inches. This will put the hitch centerline directly above the center of the rear axle on your truck.
